How we edit

We Edit Your Writing,Not Your Faith

Christian readers notice quickly when a book's voice is borrowed or its language is generic. They also notice when an editor has softened a conviction the author meant to state plainly.

Our editors work on clarity, structure and flow. Your theology and denominational tradition stay exactly as you hold them. We check every Scripture reference against the translation you cite, so a mis-numbered verse never reaches print.

Our editorial promise

  • We never change a doctrinal position without your approval.
  • Every verse is checked for reference, wording and translation.
  • We match your tradition's terms, whether you write "Eucharist" or "Lord's Supper."
  • Your manuscript stays confidential from first draft to launch.

frequently asked questions

Do I need permission to quote the Bible in my book?
It depends on the translation and how much you quote. ESV, NIV and NKJV allow up to 500 verses without written permission, as long as Scripture is under 25% of your book and you print the publisher's notice. The KJV is public domain in the United States.
Which Bible translation should I quote?
Use the translation your readers and your church tradition use most. You can quote several translations in one book, but each one needs its own notice, and each quote should be marked with the translation's abbreviation.
Will you change my theology or doctrine?
No. We edit for clarity, structure and accuracy of references. We never change a doctrinal position without your written approval.
Can my book be sold in Christian bookstores?
Yes. Listing your print book through Ingram makes it orderable by Christian bookstores, since Ingram's Spring Arbor division serves that market. Whether a store stocks it on the shelf is the store's decision, so we also plan direct church and event sales.
Do I need a literary agent to publish a Christian book?
Not for self-publishing or hybrid publishing. Agents are mainly needed to approach large traditional Christian publishers.
Do I need to be a pastor to publish a Christian book?
No. Most Christian books are written by lay believers sharing testimony, teaching or fiction. Ministry credentials help some categories, such as Bible commentary, but are not required to publish.
What BISAC category should my Christian book use?
It depends on the book. Devotionals use REL012020, general Christian living uses REL012000, Bible studies use REL006000 and Christian fiction uses FIC042000. We pick the codes that match where your readers browse.
Do I keep the rights and royalties to my book?
Yes. You keep 100% of your rights and royalties. Your ISBNs are registered in your name, so your book stays yours if you ever move it.
